Welcome everyone to a new season of bowling. This message is to make you aware of the plans for this year’s competition events.​

Throughout the season we are intending to hold 8 competitions. There will be 4 pairs competitions, run as one day, round robin events and 4 singles events. The singles events as in previous years will require individuals to arrange games with their advertised opponent.

​

This year we have reintroduced handicapping. Three (3) of the singles competitions will involve the use of a member’s handicap. Whereas the Merit Cup (reintroduced this year), will as the name suggests be on an individual’s Merit. These individual competitions will be knock outs.

​

As usual competition entrance will require members to put their names down on the sheet/s in the club house.  However, this year for the Merit cup ONLY, EVERY member WILL be entered.

​

Sheets and dates of all events will be posted in the club house from April 1st. Please enter as many as possible these are fun events, and who knows you could end up with a cup to polish. You will also become part of the history of the Rams Head Bowling Club. This year it will be 101 years since the Vernon Cup was first played for!

On a more serious note, competitions don’t just run themselves. If any member feels they could help promote and champion the running of any of the competitions, please contact a member of the committee.
